How much gel do you use to scrunch?

i have thick wavy hair but it gets puffy when it dries. does scrunching with gel make it look wet? becuase i like when my hairs wet, its not as puffy. how exactly do you do it and how much do u use?

Part your hair into two halves, put one half over each shoulder so you can see all your hair. Mix a dime sized amount of good scrunching gel (Pantene Pro-V Hydrating Curls Scrunching Gel is perfect) with a pump of Anti-Frizz Serum (John Frieda Frizz Ease or L'Oreal Elvive) and then rub your hands together then smooth the mixture over one half of your hair from about half an inch from the roots to the ends, and then using your fingers, lightly scrunch the roots, just by picking them up and closing ur palm lightly and repeatedly. Then do the same on the other half of your hair (make the mixture again) and then use a diffuser to dry your hair or just let it air dry.
