How can i get straight hair...?

I don't want to use that straightening stuff... i just want to use my straightening iron... but it will not work... i have medium wavy hair, but its very thick, (and i don't use gel)... but is there a type a gel that will help my iron work? if so what kind? and do i put it in let my hair dry then straighten? i want it kinda spiked too!

first, blow it dry (hot) with a round bristle ceramic brush. then put straightening serum (IC has a pink bottle). dont put too much, you dont want your hair to get greasy. then make sure you have a good ceramic flat iron. you can get a good one at a beauty supply store for $40. take your time with your hair. its hard at first, but when you get to know your hair, it gets easier. do it sections at a time and focus on that one section. then, when its flat and straight, use whatever gel or products you want to get it spikey. but remember, only put the serum on your hair when your straightening it. otherwise, the gel will make it sticky and unmanageable.

Let your hair dry naturally, as hairdrying can damage your hair almost as bad as straightening, if done too often. Then, you need some good Irons. I recommend GHD's or CHI's. Then, to achieve a spiky, straight look, smooth on some shine serum, as this will make your hair appear shiny and spiky on the ends.

Yes. I have your problem too. If you have a hair straightener (also known as a straightening iron), I'm expecting yours is a small one, right? If it is, you have to get a big one that has a comb connected to it that doesn't change tempurature- that's just automatic. If you're using one without a comb, those are for americanish hair that's really thin and... not thick. I've been frustrated for a long time, too.

uise a heat protector spray use it after you take a shower and your hair isnt too damp. once your hair is lightly wet apply that spray and wait about 30 mins to strat straightening it. remember if you dont want to do too much damage let your hair be fully dried before straightening

Try blow drying it until it's all dry, then using the straightener all over. To make it kind of spiky at the ends you could put some stuff from joico called pomade...it will make the ends look spiked and smooth.

use thin peices of hair (the smaller the straighter) and try using that Herbal Essences straightening shampoo. it works for me to get my hair straighter without an iron. it might help. i know it's expensive, but you shouldn't use a lot of it. a little goes a long way. use a light weight gel that won't make your hair stiff and when you are done use hairspray (very lightly!!!!!!) so it doesn't decide to change on you.

well.....i have the same prob as you...but luckily i have found a solution!!!!! take smaller portions of ur hair and straighten it without anything in your hair....then after it's all straightened, you can spray hairspray all over your hair....then brush it....not too much becuase it may become frizzy...then find like some sculpting wax or styling wax they call it...put a bit on ur finger tips and run your fingers through your hair....you could also find some silk drops to put in your hair before you blow dry it that will help decrease you frizz....hope i could help....GOOD LUCK!!!

If you use a straightener it only stays for one day.... But you can go to pretty much any beauty supply place, and you can buy relaxer, it keeps your hair straight for much longer than if you just use a ceramic iron.

Chi makes great products for this. And using an extremely high temp. Salons normally use an iron that is about $300 that works great, but I found ones at Walmart that work just as well. Just take a 1' by 1/2' strand of your hair at a time. I use to straighted my hair ALL of the time. My boyfriend saw me fresh out of the shower one day and realized I had curly hair and his mouth dropped. It took little convincing after his response, but now I do the natural thing and am ALWAYS getting compliments from people.

Wavy hair is beautiful! I would not recommend using a straightening iron, it bakes your hair and damages it a lot. Over time it will lose its effect and your hair will get really damaged. Don'tdo it while your hair is wet, you could electricute yourself unless it's a special kind of iron.

First you need a good hair straightener.

Next you need a hair dryer and some hair syrum.

After you get out of the shower, apply two or three squirts into the palm of your hand and run it through your hair. Comb it through and do your best to blowdry it as straight as you can. After that use the flat iron to straighten it.

If you want it kind of spiked, add some more of the hair syrum at the ends to make them stick out.
