hi gary, I've tried both hot %26amp; cold settings, truth is, no difference as hair gels are generally plant cellulose suspended in a gel solution which will evaporate %26amp; dry off... but in asian country, using a hairdryer on hot setting will cause sweating, thus we'll generally use it on cold setting.

I recommend high to moderate heat. It is quicker and provides a much better result. I have an entire ritual with m morning hair routine.

Depending on time involved I'll use a gel or hairspray and attempt to straighten my hair out, then for full effect I use a flat iron and wax.
