Alcohol will dry out your hair and remove needed oils. The hair needs a bit of oil, but not too much. You may after a while also notice an itchy scalp, this is another indication your scalp and hair are too dry. Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, then you can get a way with the alcohol stuff for a while, but it is not recommended. I know this sounds crazy, but washing with flat beer will strip away any build up, then you can start over with hair that will take the moisturizer better.
