[{CrImPiNg HAIR]}?

ok...I have straight hair and I want to make it wavy with gel [crimp]! how do I do it with gel?

The braiding method is easiest if you don't want to buy a crimping iron. Okay, depending on how much "crimpage" you want in your hair is how much you will braid your hair. If you want waves, then I suggest that you just do the one French braid. If you want more waves, then braid it into four separate parts, and you really really want crimp hair, then you have to do many individual braids... either way whatever method you use you should put hair products on it the morning you take your braids out, even a spray on the night before. When you try to take them out, be very careful separating each part of the braid. Get SunSilk in the green bottle used primarily to decrease the frizziness. If not, you get get gel %26amp; water, or hairspray %26amp; water to put these strands in place. I find it easier to turn my head upside down and crunch it using my hands. That you you'll get volume all around your hair and not just the sides, it also takes away the parts you had when you first braided your hair. DON'T try to brush or comb it through, that's how you get the "I got eletricuted by the blowdryer look"!

Try this method on another day, not exactly the day of your promotion just to get the feel of it.

Goodluck!

TO DO:

First brush your hair so there are no knots.

Then take pony tail holders and divide your hair into sections.

Take one section of your hair and hold a little part of it.

Then take a curling iron around 1 inch. or smaller

Put the hair all the way down at the end of the iron and roll your hair in it like you normally would.

Take other parts of that section and curl them.

Repeat steps for all of the sections of hair.

After you have completed that, put a little bit of hair spray in you hair.

Then let it set

PlaitsWash your hair as normal then towel dry, leaving it slightly damp.

Lightly spray your hair with sea-salt spray and comb through hair.

Divide your hair into four sections by first halving the hair in the middle, then again on each half.

Plait each of the four sections. It doesn't have to be be perfect. Slightly messy plaits will make the waves look more natural.

Wait until your hair is completely dry the undo the plates and gently separate the waves.

Spray lightly with a serum and lightly tousle.

TIPS:

Make sure you get all the knots out before and after you do this!

Make sure you have all the supplies before you start.

Make sure you have time to do this (in other words, don't do it like 5 minutes before school starts).

I agree that braiding is a great way to get waves. If that doesnt work for you, try towel drying after you wash your hair, till its slightly damp. Work a small amount of curl defining gel through it, and scrunch it with your hands. Then blow dry with a diffuser.

Hope that helps! =]
