Can I check items such as aerosol hair spray and perfume as checked baggage?

I am packing for our family vacation and am unsure what can be taken on a plane.

I think that most items fall into two categories: pressurized aerosol style cans (i.e. hair spray, perfume, etc.) and the just plain liquid/cream gel type stuff (think sunscreen, contact lens solution, etc) .

Which of these type items can or can't be packed? I've read TSA's guidelines for carry-on luggage, but I'm talking about checked baggage.

Thanks!

It's really best not to take aerosol containers considering they may explode for the pressure, but it is allowed. It's also a good idea to put all liquids including shampoo, etc. in a ziplock bag. Those explode to, but not as dramatically. = ]

the wepage below gives the TSA regs for carry-on AND checked luggage...so you can check it to see about the items you want to pack. have a reat vacation!

You can pack pretty much whatever you want in your checked luggage, with the exception of explosives and hazardous material (such as flammable liquids and the like).

You could check 50 giant tubes of toothpaste if you wanted to. You can't get access to your checked luggage during the flight, but you can get to your carry-on, and I think that's why the checked luggage restrictions are so lax. Whenever I fly, I check pretty much everything, and I've never had a problem with my luggage.
